ABOUT US
Formerly known as the Ottawa Bachata Festival, the event began as an idea in 2017 and grew into an annual celebration of Bachata in the National Capital Region.
The Capital Bachata Festival is organized by Capital Region Bachata, a non-profit organization that strives to provide hundreds of dancers of all levels opportunities to learn, dance and perform with Latin dance professionals from across Canada and internationally.
The Capital Bachata Festival offers four days of Latin dance workshops, social dancing and performances throughout the National Capital Region!
Though the festival's emphasis is on Bachata, it also showcases other styles of Latin dance that have been known to influence Bachata over the past few decades. Workshops range from Beginner to Intermediate level and will provide attendees a chance to learn styling, patterns, footwork and tricks & lifts. In the evenings our attendees get the chance to take what they learned out on the dance floor until 3AM, after being inspired by some incredible shows from local, national and international performers!
Note: Video clips taken from Ottawa Bachata Festival 2020. Actual event venue will be in a larger space at the Palais des Congrès in Gatineau. Artists showcased in the video are not guaranteed to attend for 2023.
